# v2.5.0 - Signs of Life

- Trackbook now uses the open-source mapping engine MapLibre Native
- updated libraries
- updated translations
**About the migration**
- Trackbook previously used osmdroid to display its maps. Sadly osmdroid development was stopped and the library archived in November 2024.
- Due to security concerns, Trackbook had to switch to a mapping engine that is under active development.
- Offline Mapsforge-based maps are not available anymore in v2.5.x
